Paula Pascucci - Biography

“In a world that often rushes past, I am drawn to the beauty that reveals itself slowly.”

Hi, I’m Paula.

Most mornings begin with a cup of tea on my lanai, surrounded by my three cats, watching the birds take turns at the feeder while hummingbirds and pollinators move through my garden. Those quiet moments often find their way into my work.

I’ve been making art for as long as I can remember. Growing up near the coast north of Boston, I was always drawing, painting, and exploring the natural world around me. While I spent many years working in the corporate world, I never left the art community, staying active in local art associations and continuing to create whenever I could.

In 2017, I took a leap of faith and moved to St. Augustine, leaving behind a lifetime of family, friendships, and familiar places. Starting over wasn’t easy, but it led me to connect with an incredible community of artists through the St. Augustine Art Association and the First Coast Pastel Society. Those connections opened new doors, from gallery exhibitions to teaching workshops and serving in leadership roles within the arts community.

Today, I work primarily in mixed-media collage, creating my own painted papers and building images piece by piece. Birds, gardens, marshes, and the quiet rhythms of nature are recurring themes in my work. I’m fascinated by the way small details can tell larger stories and how beauty often reveals itself when we slow down long enough to notice.

My hope is that my work invites you to pause, look a little closer, and discover something that speaks to you.
